How Ridge is heading to $1,000,000,000 in revenue

It's not just wallets

Hey there!

It’s always a pleasure to welcome a lot of new subscribers. So let me do a TL;DR of this newsletter. Every Sunday at 7 PM CEST I’m dropping the sauce in your inbox with 3 ads I’ve come across this week. I’m breaking them down, what I like, what I don’t like and ultimately my thoughts on whether or not these are winners or not.

This week we’re diving into Ridge, who are currently doing 9 figures in sales per year, which means they are doing something right.

Sean from Ridge said it himself, he’s gearing up to head to 1 billion in revenue with Ridge, and I think he will get there.

So let’s break down 3 ads from Ridge and see what’s behind this 9-figure accessory brand.

A great way to showcase a kind of social proof in this ad. The #1 most knocked-off wallet screams that they are the leading wallet brand and tons of copycats tried to imitate Ridge. With added social proof they even boost this more by showcasing they have over 80,000 5-star reviews.

The colours are really great too on this ad, they shadowed the wallet just right for it not to be too yellowish so it stands out.

I really love this concept as it really targets people well that are in the market for a new wallet by showing Ridge is the one they need to get right now backed by a ton of social proof.

Onto the next funnel stage here is really going deeper into explaining what people don’t know about this wallet. It really speaks to an audience that might have seen an ad or two from Ridge but maybe isn’t convinced yet. This is a great way of showcasing why someone should get one.

I like the fact that they also added 7 ridge wallets on the right side as well from a visual standpoint.

I do think this ad could have some better colours as it doesn’t stand out as much, in this case, I would rather go with a black background and a white text to make it pop more.

Using fear is a great way of grabbing attention. With this ad Ridge really plays into scaring people by potential hackers. It talks about how hackers use the same technology as you tapping to pay making it very familiar.

If you would say, did you know hackers use RFID to hack your wallet no one would understand. This way Ridge really made the problem familiar to the audience to explain it this way.

They use the classic framework of:

  1. Hook

  2. Problem

  3. Intro product

  4. Features / USP

  5. Demo product

  6. Benefits

  7. Desired end results

  8. CTA

Go ahead and steal this framework, it’s proven to work wink
