Performance fell off a cliff?

Try this now

Hey there! 👋

After one week off I am back! It's been a good trip for some R&R in Portugal. It's been a great week of sun, good food and some great runs. Now I'm back home and ready to start Q2 off right. Excited for all the brands we're working with and the new ones we're onboarding for Q2.

So this week it's going to be a short one about fixing your performance on paid ads.

So we've all been through it, the campaigns are working well for a few weeks, maybe even a month. Testing enough creatives, trying different landing pages, but then suddenly the performance falls off a cliff and Zuck wins by knockout in the first round.

Well, that's awkward, you go to your marketing team or agency and tell them to drop the budget as obviously the spend is being wasted and you are not getting back what you want anymore.

But what if I told you pulling back spend is not always the answer? You have bills to pay, you have people to pay and a drop in revenue is not ideal as the bills are stacking up.

But what should I be doing?

Keep spending at an unprofitable ROAS or CPA?

No of course not, but dropping your spend can only lead to bigger problems like not being able to keep up with the bills like I just described.

So instead of dropping the spend aggressively try to find out why it is people are not buying anymore, drop the spend maybe a little and try something new, try new ads, find previous winners and give them a new hook or change something about them to make them better. You shouldn't drop the spend so aggressively as you know you should be able to operate at that spend level based on historical performance and pulling the spend will set you back even more and kill momentum. Rather replace the spend with better ideas.

Better ideas can come from speaking to your customers and getting to know them better to discover what makes them tick. This is the biggest one I've seen to have the highest impact on client results. Get on the phone and ask them a series of questions to find out why them have bought and what made them buy in the first place.

By doing this I am sure you can see at least a 10-20% increase in your result by implementing something from what you've gathered.

Most Valuable Piece of Content

Every week I want to share a piece of content I've found valuable and learned a lot from.

Growing an agency presents itself with a lot of growing pains, client results, client expectations, and growing and managing a team. I loved this podcast episode from the Agency Algorithm podcast with Eddie Maalouf. It shows some fantastic examples how a great agency operates. There are definitely some golden nuggets I am implementing.

I've been using Foreplay for months now, and I can honestly say it's one of the best value-for-money tools for any eCommerce brand, agency owner or anyone that runs paid media. It allows you to save ads from TikTok's and Facebook's ads library and keep them forever in your inspiration boards!

That's a wrap!

I really enjoyed writing this week's newsletter and think it can bring a ton of value to any eCommerce business to scale. Are you looking to scale? We're growing our team and have the capacity to take on 2 more brands for Q2 and help them scale with our high-converting creative output system and our advertising methods that have driven $20M+ in online sales.

Interested? Book a call here. (You must already be spending at least 5K a month on ads to qualify)

See you next week at 7 PM CEST.

All the best,

Dennis 💚
