How To Get More Out of Your Creatives

Without paying creators an arm and a leg

Hey there! 👋

Just turned 29 this week. It feels like just yesterday when I was 25 years old lol.

Doing a bit of celebrating this weekend, nothing crazy as I am a grandpa that is in bed by 8-9 PM and up by 5.

I think this week's subject will help out a lot of brand owners or agencies looking to get more out of their existing content, as there is always a push to create more more more, but never has there been a focus on repurposing what you've already got as it can truly be magical what it can bring.

Buckle up, let's get into some secret sauce!

So, you want to save money and be as efficient as possible with your resources. Always investing in new pieces of content from creators that charge an arm and a leg is a big bet. You're not guaranteed they will perform.

The thing you can do is look at your current folder of assets and see what you can do to repurpose it, mix and match it, and try other concepts with it. There are countless ways to kick back performance for your old material.

Check the performance of your ads in the last 90 days. Identify your winners. So for this example, a UGC testimonial with hook A is working. Now go back in your assets and see which other hooks are usable for this video. If you cannot find any, you can quickly film another, which shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes in most cases, boom that's one new video to test!

This week I also posted a little hack on my Twitter to get some extra juice from the squeeze out of your creatives 👀

It's as simple as speeding up your video by 1.5X to get a fresh creative that can kick back performance, especially when times are tough in the ad account.

Something we do roughly 2 times per month is going back to old creatives in the ad account. We check, which creatives managed to hit our targets and which ones didn't quite reach our targets but had strong soft metrics like hook- and hold rates.

Based on this data we are able to see which parts of the videos to improve. Low hook rate, let's improve the first part of the video. Low hold rate, then the middle part needs some work. If you have been consistently putting out 10-50 creatives a week, you should easily be able to generate a 3-week supply by going into your ad account and analysing your data.

It's so stressful to look and see your favourite creators or brands saying they're putting out 50 creatives a week but then you try to do the same and only see 1 or 2 actual works when working on somewhat of a budget, that's why looking at data and repurposing old content is so important.

If you already have a lot of your customers post about your products then I have a great tip for you too. Go to your tagged section on your Instagram and check which posts you can use for ads. Send the creator a message and when they approve you can download the video using this tool.

For TikTok, you can do the same, but a bit differently. Go to the search section and type in your brand name. Contact the creator and when they approve it you can download the video with Tikmate.

The last tip is for brands with a very big creative output and needs a way to organize everything. I actually had a call with the founder a couple of months ago. It's the app Recharm.

Recharm organizes, labels, and makes mixing and matching your creatives a breeze. For example, if you have a lot of UGC videos that have unboxing, reviews and parts that talk about the benefits or even product shots. Recharm groups all of these so you can mix and match creatives in minutes, not hours.

Most Valuable Piece of Content

Every week I want to share a piece of content I've found valuable and learned a lot from.

Last week I recorded a video on how to use Triple Whale in 2023. I walk through how to use it in a cookieless world and how we are using it as an agency spending multiple 6 figures a month in advertising spend.

Top 5 Ads of The Week

I've been using Foreplay for months now, and I can honestly say it's one of the best value-for-money tools for any eCommerce brand, agency owner or anyone that runs paid media. It allows you to save ads from TikTok's and Facebook's ads library and keep them forever in your inspiration boards!

That's a wrap!

I hope you've enjoyed this week's issue of DTC with Dennis and it brought you value on how to repurpose old creatives so you are able to save money and be more efficient with your content.

See you next week at 7 PM CEST.

All the best,

Dennis 💚
