The Best Way To Use Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns

You have probably heard about Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns and the need to use them either on Twitter, YouTube or from Meta itself. Yeah, they have been hyping them up quite big the last few months they were released to the public.

I want to say based on the hype they are a bit overrated, as in my own humble opinion they are not the holy grail to getting better ad results. You can't simply paste your ads in there, sit back and think you're going to scale.

The most important part is still getting the best creatives first, and then using the best campaign structure to scale them and to increase your revenue via these campaigns.

1. What are Advantage+ Shopping Campaigns

So according to Meta Advantage+ Shopping campaigns leverage machine learning to help you reach valuable audiences with less setup time and greater efficiency. Advantage+ shopping campaigns is designed to be the most efficient solution for performance-focused advertisers looking to drive online sales.

In comparison to manual shopping ads, Advantage+ shopping campaigns requires fewer inputs during campaign creation, simplifies audience options and streamlines the creative management process. For example, instead of running many campaigns with varying targeting and creative setups, you can set up to eight Advantage+ shopping campaigns per country. This gives our system more opportunities to reach people likely to purchase your products.

2. How to set them up

So you want to start out by going to your ads manager.

In there you want to hit create:

Then click Sales:

After that, you select Advantage+ Shopping Campaign:

Following that you can simply follow the usual set up. (bonus tip: hit Website and shop, that set up has really been working well for us lately.)

Select the targeting country, add your existing customers and be sure to set up an existing customer budget cap below your daily budget. It's important especially if you are trying to optimize for new customers to leave this as low as possible. We have seen good results with 10-30%, so have a play with it and see what works best for you.

Then if you have been getting a good volume of sales, at the bottom of the page you will see Meta's recommendations for ads to import. I would review them and import the best ones. After that feel free to set up some of your own ads in these campaigns. We have seen good results in also testing ads in ASC+ campaigns, so it's also a good strategy to add new ads to this campaign.

When you've added in all the ads you want to run, you can hit publish and let it run!

3. How to run ASC+ Campaigns

The set-up we use for ASC+ campaigns is fairly simple. We basically have a main CBO with different adsets, each adset contains a separate test. Now when we see an ad performing well. We extract the post ID and move that one over to the ASC+ campaign.

Here is an overview to illustrate it:

We keep on adding ads to the ASC+ campaign and have found that you can add up to 15-20 creatives. Anything after that will be too much - of course, all depending on budget. Don't go slam 20 ads in there if you only spend 50 bucks a day.

4. Results with ASC+ Campaigns

Now obviously ASC+ campaigns are not the end all be all like I mentioned, but they have generated some pretty sweet results. Below you can see some results comparing ASC+ campaigns to our normal campaigns. They blow them out of the water to be honest – this is all by using the above structure so I definitely would recommend it you testing it out.
