AdVenture: New Beginnings

These ads are taking over

Hey there!

Super excited to have you here on the first edition of AdVenture. A rebrand of my previous newsletter named DTC with Dennis. DTC with Dennis was the first scrappy newsletter that I feel didn’t have a real direction. It added value but missed the point in some areas.

So here we are, new beginnings with AdVenture where every week you'll get the best insights of what the most successful DTC brands are doing every week. No fluff, only value.

Basically, every week you’ll get a trip down advertising land where I will be showing you 3 different ads that stood out to me that I’ll be reviewing and breaking down. You’ll get actionable insights into what the most popular DTC brands are doing every week, delivered to you every Sunday at 7 PM CEST.

There are some amazing new ads I’ve found that all use some sort of social media template/layout to stand out from the normal boring ads, so let’s get started!

RYZE SUPERFOODS

This is a banger, and I cannot say enough that unique ideas like this really stand out and make the user stop the scroll. What RYZE really does well here is to combine a simple product shot with the Apple Notes app in a very organic way by using the exact colours, fonts etc for it to look the same. I presume they made the full text in the Apple Notes app and took a screenshot and just added a product render next to it – super easy.

One piece of advice is that the main headline and the first benefit point are a bit redundant. The headline mentions “No more inflammation” and then the first benefit point says “reduced inflammation” which is kinda contradicting – like that is it!

So whip up your Apple Notes app, add in a headline, some bullet points and a call to action and get some new ads going. Super easy, super cheap and (possibly) highly effective!

True Classic

Another great “social media post” type ad from True Classic, they killed it with this one showcasing a sale without being too much in your face screaming SALE …% OFF BUY NOW !!!.

The great thing with True Classic is that they are known for their amazing fitting tees, but lately have been expanding into different categories like underwear, pants, hoodies, zip ups etc. This video is a great edit showcasing the different styles in an organic-like way which looks like it has been posted by someone. Whitelist this ad and the money printer will not stop!

They end the video with a pretty cool call to action where they showcase their different styles in a slideshow being able to show 9 different images at a time to showcase to the user a lot of different styles available in a matter of seconds.

Amazing call to action from True Classic

Fabletics

This one is something else, by really showing the IG story into the DM increase targets that younger women audience that’s raving for social proof and recognition through social media. With this ad, Fabletics really speaks to that younger demographic in a way I’ve never seen before.

They talk about BBL without the BBL which is a strong selling point that these shorts can help you get the same effect a BBL could give you without the procedure.

Additionally, Fabletics covers all the reasons why people would buy this set:

  1. Amazing colour

  2. Perfect fit

  3. Comfy fit

  4. Pockets on the side

Then they cover the fact that there is a VIP offer (which seems they are always doing lol if you have looked at a Fabletics ad before you know) with 70% off.

Well, that is a wrap for this week. I hope this brought you value and gets you excited about what’s to come next week. I’ll be delivering these every Sunday to your inbox at 7 PM CEST.
